
Who is Albert James?
Albert James is currently a producer and reporter at KCBS Radio in San Francisco. In addition to his work at the Bay Area’s #1 radio news station, he also works at high schools in San Mateo County, providing expert guidance to students in journalism and digital arts courses.
Before coming to the Bay Area, Albert served as the founding reporter at the Olympia News Bureau, a statewide television service supported by Washington State University’s Murrow News Fellowship program. He created stories on Washington state government that aired on outlets all across Washington, from Seattle to Spokane to the Tri-Cities and everywhere in between.
Previously, Albert was a reporter/anchor/producer at KEZI 9, the ABC affiliate in Eugene, Oregon, contributing to the market’s top-rated newscasts.
Albert’s touchstone as a journalist is “Inform. Impact. Inspire.” He aims to tell people’s stories and provide information important to people’s lives. He wants to hold people accountable and highlight the triumphs of the human spirit.
Albert is a proud graduate of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at WSU. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and media production.
At the Murrow College, Albert created award-winning stories for Murrow News 8 and The Spokesman-Review. He also spent a summer as an intern at KIRO 7 in Seattle, learning the ins and outs of a successful broadcast operation.
Raised in Lakewood, Washington, Albert graduated from Lakes High School in 2019. There, he was a part of many student organizations, including the school’s Army JROTC unit. He continues to volunteer with the Lancer Battalion, providing mentoring and communication services to the program.
